Finding the right healthy snacks for weight loss can be the key to finally shedding those pounds.

Hunger urges can make or break a diet. When we get hungry, we start to make bad decisions.

Having the right healthy snack for weight loss on hand can curb hunger without ending in a full binge fest of something you shouldn’t be eating.

There is nothing like getting through a full week of great choices and then losing all your progress to an entire bag of chips, carton of ice cream, or box of cookies. If you have the right healthy options in front of you, you’ll be a LOT less likely to fall off track.

We’ve put together an awesome guide of healthy snacks for weight loss so you can eat when you need to, and still hit your goals!

Best Healthy Snacks for Weight Loss

1.  Fresh Fruit

healthy snacks for weight loss fruit

Fruit is easy and delicious to have on hand. We love having apples, bananas, grapes, blueberries, raspberries, and clementines at home for quick grab and gos.

We always pre-wash and cut fruit if we’re able to so it’s even more easily accessible. When you get a hunger craving you want to grab something as quickly as possible! Even though they are a bit more expensive, we also take advantage of buying the precut fruit containers at the grocery store.

2.  Dried Fruit

Dried fruit can also be a great healthy snack for weight loss. Making your own with a dehydrator is the best way to make sure what you’re eating doesn’t have any extra additives.

If you’re buying a pre-made dried or dehydrated fruit option at the store, check the ingredient list to make sure there isn’t any added sugars. Added sugars make this healthy option not so healthy, and they’ll cut your weight loss results too.

You can even get these SunRype dehydrated fruit bars right on Amazon, and they have no added sugars!

3.  String Cheese

You may think string cheese is just for kids, but it’s a great healthy snack for weight loss for adults too. String cheese is easy to keep on hand and doesn’t expire too fast.

It’s low in calories and healthy too! Our secret is grabbing a huge bag of organic string cheese from Costco. It’s way cheaper and we always have enough for both parents and kids.

4.  Trail Mix

Take this trail mix suggestion with a grain of salt. Trail mix can totally be a healthy snack for weight loss, but it can also be a totally unhealthy snack option.

When you’re looking for trail mix, choose options with nuts or dried fruits, and avoid extra sugary items. If your trail mix has more popcorn, chocolate, or candy in it than real whole foods, it’s not going to help you lose weight. In fact, you may be gaining some.

5.  Hard Boiled Eggs

Eggs are an awesome source of protein. This healthy snack for weight loss will fill you up and keep hunger at bay.

Hard boiled eggs are also an easy snack to make ahead in bulk for the week. Grab a Cuisinart egg cooker so make this snack that much more efficient.

6.  Salami

There are tons of healthy salami snack options when you need something high in protein, low in carbs, and easy to grab on the go. This health snack for weight loss option will seriously curb hunger.

A ton of companies even pre-package salami and cheese options for you.

7.  Seeds

Seeds can be a great low carb healthy snack for weight loss. Plus, there are a ton of tasty options. You can munch on anything from sunflower seeds to pumpkin seeds.

These are a great option if you’re the type of person who needs to FEEL like you are eating or snacking without consuming a ton of extra carbs.

8.  Edamame

Edamame is a great healthy snack for weight loss. It’s becoming more and more popular so you can find it easily at the grocery store ready to go.

Kids usually like this one too!

9.  Smoothie

Yum, who doesn’t love a good smoothie! Smoothies are an ideal snack for weight loss. You can pack them with fresh fruits, veggies, and extra nutrients in the form of powders too.

Keep an eye on the ingredients you are using to keep them extra healthy. You can easily substitute options for weight loss friendly results. For example, ditch the sugary yogurt and just use water instead.

If you’re looking for extra nutrients to add to your drink, check out matcha powder, flax seed powder, or chia seed powder.

10.  Kale Chips

Kale chips can be an amazingly satisfying healthy snack for weight loss when you’re craving that crunchy feel. This delicious snack has grown in popularity which means there are a ton of easily accessible options.

They even make kale chips in adventurous flavors now too! This kale chip variety pack comes with original, zesty nacho, kool ranch, and garlic & onion.

11.  Nuts

Nuts are one of the easiest healthy snacks for weight loss to keep stashed on the go. Keep a pack in your purse, your gym bag, or your car.

We love keeping individual bags of nut mixes around for a little extra variety. These Super Seven Mixed Nut Packs have almonds, walnuts, cashews, macadamias, hazelnuts, raisins & cranberries.

12.  Cheese & Nut Crackers

Cheese and nut crackers is one of our absolute favorite healthy snacks for weight loss. We emphasize the nut crackers because you can quickly get into trouble with regular processed crackers. We literally buy bags and bags of these Crunchmaster crackers. Sometimes you can find them in bulk at Costco too.

13.  Lunch Meat

We buy a TON of lunch meat at our house. Typically turkey, but we mix in some others to keep things fresh too. Lunch meat is a high protein, low carb snack option. You can eat it plain, or even roll it around some cheese.

Everyone, no matter what age, loves this healthy snack for weight loss at our house. We always buy the highest quality option (typically Boar’s Head at our grocery store) so we avoid all the nasty stuff that can come with lower quality meats.

14.  Bars

Notice we didn’t put “granola bar” because most of the time your classic granola bars really aren’t very healthy. They are full of sugars and other processed ingredients that can be secret killers for your weight loss goals.

That being said, you can’t beat the convenience that comes with a great bar. So we have a few bar options that are healthy, and taste approved. The first is the Health Warrior Chia Bar. Our favorite flavor is the chocolate peanut butter, but these bars come in a bunch of flavors. Try the variety pack if you want to taste test them all.

Epic bars, and Rx bars are great options too.

15.  Frozen Fruit

If you’re getting tired of your fruit game, switch it up by freezing it. Frozen fruit, like grapes, are a great healthy snack for weight loss.

Some serious dieters even use frozen fruit as a dessert substitute to cut down on those calories.

16.  Raw Veggies
